Books, Manuscripts
Alice's parents have split up, and now she has to shuffle between two houses, neither of which feel like home. Mum is distracted, Dad is busy with his new family, and no one seems to notice Alice still exists. But when Mum takes her to the pet shop to buy a hamster, she spies a little brown mouse hiding at the back of the cage. He is tiny, with cocoa-brown fur, and Alice decides to name him Truffle after the chocolaty-treat. Alice spends lots of time with Truffle, and soon she doesn't feel so lonely. With the tiny mouse by her side, Alice begins to realize that maybe things are going to be OK after all.
