Rousseau, Victor, 1879-19602019
Large Print
Joe Bostock and his chief engineer Will Carruthers are engaged on building a railway line in the wilds of Manitoba that will open up rich wheat lands for settlers - but the Big Muskeg swamp seems likely to ruin the construction scheme. When an unseen assailant treacherously picks Joe off with a rifle, Will, although wounded himself, vows to complete the railroad and bring his friend's murderer to justice. But he is hampered and his life threatened at every turn by a crooked syndicate led by a rival contractor.
