Best known for its air show which will be no more with the closure of the RAF base, this year is a poignant time to take a nostalgic look back at Leuchars. However, aviation is just one aspect of the recent past. The book has lots of other interesting photographs, with shops and street scenes and local landmarks. Guardbridge also had one principal employer, a large paper mill, also no more. The small village of Balmullo (and its most famous former resident, satirist and cartoonist Martin Anderson or Cynicus) is also included as is the hamlet of St Michaels.
